We Don’t Need Another Hero

Or maybe we do sweetheart.

This is an email which one of my ‘campaign managers’ left on a popular on-line gossip magazine:

Surely you are being selective in singling out one party, Mrs CG. Given the right environment, political parties have much in common with cult movements: charismatic smiling leaders, the cultivation of loyal apostles, a faithful flock, a formidable capacity for myth-making, a penchant for preaching that There Is Only One Path To Salvation and a seemingly unquenchable desire to cast out heretics.

I would advise you to refrain from cruxifying Our Beloved Leader, Mrs Caruana Galizia.

Your fan club’s activities are commendable. I would nominate Ms Gatt as a candidate as the party’s MEP candidate for the upcoming elections, you know, just to show her some appreciation. Or you could organise a fund-raising activity to buy a dictionary for the fan club committee.
Talking of appreciation, we wouldn’t want to lose Veronique’s sterling work, would we? But then again I believe Ilona Staller made quite a splash in the Eye-tie parliament, no? (And I believe that was followed by a flurry of activity in Animal Rights lobbies across Europe *nudge*nudge*wink*wink*)

Janice, dear, I think you’ve got it all wrong. In a contest between a riddled bitter woman and a bright young thing, it’s clear who’s going to come out tops
