Hi, I’m Dr Sigmund Bonello (B.A., LL.D, MA (Edinburgh), Dip. Trib. Eccl. Melit.) your favourite and most hardworking Member of the European Nations Parliament, elected in 2004 on a Maltese Centrist Party (MCP) ticket.
I’m a politician but I like to think of myself as so much more than that. In fact, I am much more than that. I’ve done so much in my life but I won’t bore you with the details. You’ll discover some of the many facets of my personality when you read my diary.
You know, when I work out on the treadmill at the gym, I imagine that I’m a metaphor. A metaphor of life, achievement and exuberance all rolled into one exceptional human being.
I am profoundly aware of my capabilities but I like to think of myself as an approachable person. This is the age of transparency, dress down Fridays and shirts worn with an open collar. I’ve been trying to effect a style-shift in my archaic pals at the MCP but I guess it’s just a bit too late for most of the folks down under. They worked hard for the party but it’s Time To Move On Now (I use the capitals consciously).
And Change Will Come, ladies and gentlemen, yes it will. I’m a politician who knows the meaning of the words patience, loyalty, sacrifice and opportunity. I’ve been patient, I’ve been loyal, I’ve sacrificed a couple of things for this nation.
Now it’s my opportunity, your opportunity, our proud nation’s opportunity.
This diary will give you an insight into who I really am, what I like and what I can’t stand, no holds barred as they say. Here’s the place where you can get to know me up close and personal. Be transparent or die, that’s one of my mottos. Another is: the sky’s the limit to a real man’s ambition.
Read on and be thrilled. This is the Dawn of a New, Exciting Age.

When I work out on the treadmill at home I don’t feel any of those. What gym do you go to?
